As a participant for Mark Kay® Inspiring Stories, you will get to work hand-in-hand with one of three female celebrities. Each documentary will have one female celebrity narrating the piece. These inspiring women want to use their voices and celebrity to shine a light on domestic violence.
The first female celebrity to sign on and put her voice behind the cause is JoAnna Garcia Swisher! Check out her bio below. Stay tuned to find out who the remaining female celebrities will be!

JoAnna Garcia Swisher bio
JoAnna Garcia Swisher’s girl-next-door appeal and Hollywood glamour continues to captivate audiences on the big and small screen.
Garcia Swisher has starred in several popular television shows including: Better With You, Privileged, and Reba, as well as a guest-starring role in Gossip Girl. She has also been seen on the big screen in hits like American Pie.
Garcia Swisher was born and raised in Tampa, Florida to a Cuban father and American mother and was raised in a bilingual household. With the support of her family, she began performing at the age of 10. Outside of acting, Garcia Swisher’s other interests include country music, traveling, animals, and fashion as well as supporting her husband, New York Yankee right fielder, Nick Swisher. Garcia Swisher is also committed to using her star power for good by giving back to others through organizations such as The Step-Up Women’s Network.

Alexa Vega bio
Alexa Vega began her career when she landed the role of Burt Reynolds’s daughter in the television series, Evening Shade. She became known worldwide as Carmen Cortez in Spy Kids. Vega will next be seen in Spy Kids 4: All the Time in the World.
Alexa was most recently seen starring in From Prada to Nada. She was awarded the 2011 MTV Movie Award for Favorite Latino Actor for her role in the film.
Vega made her Broadway debut in 2007 when she played Penny Pingleton in the Tony Award winning Broadway version of Hairspray. She was last seen in Repo! The Genetic Opera.
Alexa has appeared in the films Twister, Little Giants, Nine Months, Ghosts of Mississippi, Deep End of the Ocean, Sleepover, State’s Evidence, Walkout, Remember the Daze. Her television credits include Ladies Man, ER, Chicago Hope, Lifetime’s Odd Girl Out and ABC’s Ruby & the Rockits.

Maria Menounos bio
Maria Menounos was recently named as a co-host for "Extra," the second longest entertainment show on television. She will join Mario Lopez on-set hosting this September. Maria is also a New York Times best-selling author thanks to the release of her first book The EveryGirl’s Guide to Life. Her latest endeavor is AfterBuzz TV, the largest new media platform on the web and #1 in after-show entertainment .
On the big screen, Maria appeared in Kickin’ It Old Skool, Tropic of Thunder, and Fantastic Four. On the small screen she’s had guest roles on Without a Trace, Scrubs, and Entourage as well as a recurring role on One Tree Hill.
Maria is also active in supporting causes close to her heart. She created the non-profit, Take Action Hollywood - with the mission to utilize the power of the entertainment industry to educate, empower, and raise social awareness.
